Bolton Community Champion Sarah Akram

I became a community champion during the pandemic in 2020. I helped spread the word about vaccines and attended various sites and field work  and events to promote vaccinations and helping people in the community. I have throughly enjoyed being a champion and I am now progressing in a different areas.

I am a retired social worker, I worked for Bolton Council for 28 years in  various positions. I have extensive experience in working with diverse and vulnerable groups in difficult and challenging situations.

I am currently a Mediator for the Bolton at Home team and I  volunteer at Farnworth Library once a week.

I have recently been appointed as an exam invigilator in a local school.

My hobbies are reading, travelling, meeting up with my friends and gardening.

I am confident that my skills and experience will make me a valuable addition to the community champion team.
