I have worked for over 20 years as a teacher teaching English to adults on courses up to GCSE level. I have also recently qualified as an ESOL teacher, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider. I have always been passionate about working in the community since returning to education in my 20s and appreciating community support through my journey; without the support of individuals in the community, I would never have achieved my dream of becoming a teacher, and this is what has made me want to give back to others who may have barriers to education, training, skills and employment.

I also developed and taught on community interpreting courses at a local college, along with employability courses, and I worked with many learners to support them into sustainable employment.

Upon leaving my teaching role, I began working with men on probation, helping to support them to reduce the risk of reoffending. My current role sees me working at Bolton Council on the Alleviating Barriers project, looking at ways of supporting people and ensuring that residents have access to the wonderful provision we have in the town to help them find suitable employment or training support.

Feel free to contact me if there is any support I can offer or any information I can provide.
