Hi! I'm Christina. I've been in Bolton for about 2 years and I am passionate about community and connecting people. I love exploring new places and learning new languages. I studied European languages in university and I have taught English in Spain, the UK, and Italy, and for a short time as a volunteer in Ghana. I can get by in Welsh, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and I know a little Twi. I am currently learning BSL and Arabic, and I hope to learn more languages that are used in the community. It is my belief that through language and cultural exchange, we can bring the community together. I love getting people together in an environment where we can share food, ideas, and experiences. Since arriving in Bolton, I've really enjoyed exploring the local green areas and getting to know what's on in the community.
I work for Bolton College in the role of Community Liaison Officer. I can give information, advice and guidance regarding accessing college courses, adult education, and volunteering opportunities. I have a background in ESOL (including IELTS, driving theory, general English, Cambridge exams), and supporting people to access social housing. I was also a digital champion in my hometown during lockdown and can provide support for accessing platforms such as zoom and teams. Please feel free to contact me about any of the above.
Please note that I check my inbox and respond on a Friday from 2-5pm.
